Site Redevelopment, Grantham

Located in the heart of Grantham within the curtilage of a Grade II Listed Building and noted within the Local Authorities Development Plan as a site of historical importance this project contained a number of challenges.

Derelict for a number of years, one building was unsafe and needed to be taken down and several others required urgent repair works. Belvoir Architecture have now successfully achieved 8 planning permissions on this site, ranging from permission to take down the unsafe structure; retrospective permissions for urgent repair works, removal of trees and derelict garages,; the conversion of a remaining structure to 2 dwellings and a new replacement building to provide 4 dwellings.

Further condition discharge applications are due this year along with the long awaited start of the main building works.

Infill Extension, Stretton

Our client purchased a derelict stone cottage with a view to turning it a family home. Living Accommodation was limited and a infill extension was need to provide a kitchen space. Constrained by low level first floor windows and two facades of the immediate neighbours dwelling this extension managed to give to client the space they required, give clearance to the neighbours dwelling for maintenance and by careful choice of materials successfully blend in with the original period stone built dwellings.
